How can I make finding the right langauge course easier?

To have a good overview and on the same time to have many language course offers to choose from is a big challenge.

We are in the process of making the user interface more friendly. Within relatively short time the users will not only be able to see the courses grouped by cities and then sorted by dates but also grouped by weeks and sorted by price.

Naturally, the tags will still be available but viewing by weeks has many advantages.

When you group by number of weeks and then sorted by prices, you can easily compare prices and the course duration regardless the destination. This is a great option for clients that do not see the destination (city) itself as the main criterion. With this new feature clients can focus more on learning the language for as many weeks as possible and as cheap as possible.

Generally speaking there are two types of language travel. Which one to choose depends on parameters such as:
- Time
- Money
- Expectations

The first type is business. The term business in this case is not to be mixed with a business language course. Here I associate business with learning the language as fast as possible without sincerely caring for the travel part in language travel. The travel part is looked well upon for the sole purpose of having opportunity to immerse oneself in the language at all time.

With this aim time is of the essence - a certain language level improvement must be reached within a limited time frame. The prices are high because it demands a lot of lessons and the expectations towards surroundings are only of linguistic nature.

The second type is for the more adventurous people that are interested in the foreign culture. Pleasure plays a big part of the language holiday expectations. By pleasure I mean inter-cultural experiences and leisure time. Time frame is for this type of language travel not a decisive factor and the prices for the language courses are relative low because the most suitable courses have few lessons per week.

There are numerous levels between business and pleasure categories but these are the basic differences. It's a good idea to take this into consideration before booking a course.

Google removes PageRank from its webmaster tools

Google's Susan Moskwa says: "We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true. [...]

We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it."

For the time being, the PageRank will still be displayed in Google's toolbar.

The importance on having a good server provider is crucial. The obvious technical criteria such as: CPU-power, RAM, bandwidth etc are vital. However, other important elements are location, technical details we sometimes cannot read and service.

Location is important for eMarketing and also some providers have been accommodating spammers which mean their IP address might be black-listed by some companies i.e. Google.

With technical details I am specially referring to one issue if you are sharing the server resources with others. How big is your piece of the cake? Is there a guaranteed minimum or can we risk having inhabitants from a small country using the same server as you?

Quick-acting service around the clock is extremely important as well.

I hope this new server-provider will fulfill our needs and make sure your surfing on our site will be with minimum page download time.

I am not an expert on servers whatsoever, I just hope that this post will help future host leasers. Also, I want to tell my clients that I'm sorry for any inconvenience they might have experienced in the past.

Why do I add advertisement of my competitors on my blog?

...Many would ask themselves this question I think. Well the answer is rather simple: I want people to see for themselves that the offers are cheaper on my site than on their's even if we are in some cases representing the same school.

The sole reason for that is last-minute. The clients cannot customize their offers as they would be able to when booking directly through the language school. However, I still think it's a "small price to pay".
